Learn To Crochet/Get Sorted

Let’s talk about J.K. and Harry Potter.
She’s a horrible person. She doesn’t deserve anything. And she gets nothing from me.
Not one penny.
And part of every ticket purchased for these classes will go to The Trevor Project. So, call these what you want if you don’t want Harry Potter, but we are going to make beautiful scarves.
Let’s talk stitches!
The scarf has four stitches that make up everything you need!
- Chain (CH)
- Single Crochet(SC)
- Double Crochet (DC)
- Triple/Treble Crochet (TC)
Yarn!
For this class we’ll be using worsted weight 4 acrylic yarn! The colors will match the house you sort yourself into.
You can use whatever type of yarn you want, but it will change the size of the scarf.
Hooks!
I have a LOT of hooks. You have to find the right kind of hook for you. Currently, I use Clover hooks. We’re going to be using a G/7 (4.5 mm) hook. You can really use whatever size you want, but for the purpose of the class, we’ll use the 4.5 mm hook.
Adjusting For Size!
Scarves are traditionally 60 inches (5 feet) in length. If you want a scarf that’s longer, you will simply continue the pattern for that length. For shorter, you will decide how many rows to leave off.
What To Expect In Class!
The class will have up to 25 people. I will make sure everyone has all the supplies they need.
Learn to Crochet – This is a beginner class, so I will be showing all the stitches and giving longer explanations. Since there are only 10 students in this class it will include a lot of one-on-one attention.
Get Sorted – This is also a beginner class, but there may be people who already know how to crochet and just want to make the scarf! So, I will demonstrate, then float around the room to answer questions and provide one-on-one attention to those who need it.
Can I Bring My Own Supplies?
You’re welcome to bring whatever supplies you prefer to work with. But you paid for the supplies as part of your class and will be given them to take and do with as you will!
If you don’t want your supplies I provide, you can always donate them to future students as well.
